These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
Paul spoke highly of those in Thessalonica, and I believe we can all learn from them too. I have 2 questions for you;
Are you eager? And
What do you place your faith on?
In thessalonica they received the word of God with readiness, but they didn't end there. They decided to search the scriptures themselves. Our faith shouldn't just be based on others' testimonies. We should search for Jesus ourselves and base our faith on our own revelation too. Your faith needs to become personal.
This is a very good safeguard for your christianity. The word of God says, Seek me and you will find me. This is a personal statement. And it's an action you must do yourself.
When's the last time you searched the scriptures to see if what someone said to you was true? I encourage you to do that today. It will not only keep you in truth, but your friendship with Jesus will become so much more personally.
So get your eager on today, and find Jesus in the Word. You wont regret it.
