Session 2

Now you should have done the worksheet. Hope you're feeling well about it? You're in the middle of the process right now. So don't worry if it has brought up some stuff you weren't expecting. Jesus came to set us free and you will be free indeed.

If by any chance you're feeling uncomfortable in this process. By all means message a friend or two to keep you in their prayers. It's nice not to feel alone. Or message me and I have a team of people to lift you up. Jesus will help you.

Now this process of challenging the lies with truth won't be done quickly. I want you to take your time with the Holy Spirit to go through your answers. Just like i said earlier, life can get fast and we don't always process the messages we are getting from this world. We need to learn to take the time in relationship with the Holy Spirit to process our lives with Him. This is what a relationship is like. It's one of intimacy and love. And God already knows all about you. So no shame in sharing your deepest struggles with Him. It just makes your relationship with Him more authentic when you do. He likes that too. This step is how we stay in truth too. This will never stop, taking your cares and struggles to Him.

So now you should have a better idea of what reality looks like at the moment to you. It may not be the truth yet but we are getting there. In the worksheet I had to ask a lot of questions so you knew where your foundation was. We can’t have our foundation on anything other than Jesus and His Word.

We are now going to target some of these lies, and to do so. Again I need to first establish that the Word of God is truth. It may not feel that way at the moment for you but it will eventually. God can’t lie. When I was in this process, I needed to make a decision on whether God's word is the truth or my experience. It was pretty much a no win argument. But I needed reassurance in that at first. And maybe you will too.

So I needed to make the decision that Jesus had been faithful in many things in my life so far. And I had evidence of many answered prayers and miracles. So it was safe to say He was definitely real and good. Have you had any evidence as well? Even the littlest things that may seem random but not coincidental may be evidence. These things you must remember.

I had to decide that he had done way more than I could be thankful for (miracles, answered prayers etc). The bible says in Hebrew 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. And I had a lot of evidence of the things unseen. I imagine to some degree you would too, because without faith we can't even come to Him. And if you haven't had any miracles etc, well you are reading this right now, which is a miracle. And the Spirit is drawing you.

And just like I could based my trust on the evidence that God had shown me, you can too. Faith isn't blind, it is evidence of things unseen. Jesus came in the flesh and showed us what God looked like. Now that is evidence. (Acts 1:3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God).

Right now, maybe you need to do a quick list of all the things God has done for you. This will help with the next step too. It will show you God's love and faithfulness, so you can believe everything He promises. There may be a lot of things you haven't even realised he has done. You're alive today maybe that’s one? The bible says Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. If you can see God's love for you, it's easier to believe his word because faith works by love. But God can use your mustard seed in this process even if you don’t sense His love yet..

A mustard seed is tiny, and if that is all you need, you can move any mountain! That's what the word of God says. (Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.") I used that mustard seed many times. If I can, you can. God is faithful. So here we go.

We need to make sure you understand that some of your belief systems may be a lie. By now you may have gathered that some of your thought patterns aren’t based in truth. So the first things I want you to do is identify the lies you have discovered. You are going to do this by using the response worksheet to the questionnaire. This will take some time. Please don't rush this, but write down the scripture of truth in response to the answers you wrote. If you have identified a lie that's not on this questionnaire. Find the truth in relation to that deception by a google bible search, a friend, a pastor or contact us. And we will help you.

Once you have done this process, you are ready for session 3. Which will be about believing the truth that sets you free. This will not be based on your feelings but on the Word of God. So be encouraged because we inherit the promises of God through faith and patience and you my Friend are about to use your faith!! Get Excited. See you in session 3.
